41 new members recruited (2 cycles)
$5,000+ raised for USO
120+ member organization managed
2 years progressive leadership
ROLE: PR Chairman → Recruitment Chairman
TIMELINE: 2 Years (Dec. 2022 – Nov. 2024)
ORGANIZATION: Theta Chi Fraternity, (UNH)
SCOPE: Communications, Brand Management, Event Strategy, Member Recruitment
Elected to back-to-back leadership roles within a 120+ member organization, I managed public-facing communications, produced marketing collateral, planned large-scale recruitment events, and helped govern chapter operations — developing skills in strategic messaging, event logistics, and organizational leadership.
Leading communications and recruitment for a large fraternity chapter meant managing perception, logistics, and people — often simultaneously.
In my first role as PR Chairman, the challenge was representing a 120+ member organization authentically while cutting through the noise on social media and driving engagement around philanthropy, community service, and chapter achievements. I needed to create a consistent visual identity and content strategy that put our best foot forward — promoting events like fundraisers that raised over $5,000 for the United Service Organizations (USO).
When I was elected Recruitment Chairman, the stakes grew. Fraternity recruitment is a high-pressure, high-visibility operation with tight timelines, complex logistics, and real consequences for organizational health. My first semester came with an added obstacle: no central chapter facility to host events. I had to get creative with university resources while still delivering a competitive, organized recruitment experience.
Beyond logistics, the role required managing group dynamics — facilitating deliberations with dozens of members, synthesizing feedback, handling objections, and guiding the chapter toward consensus on new member selection.

Strategy & Operations

Progressive leadership from communications to executive operations
Managed all social media channels, developing content that drove engagement and presented the chapter professionally
Designed graphics, flyers, banners, and promotional materials for events including philanthropy fundraisers, community service initiatives, and chapter milestones
Documented achievements and created a consistent visual presence that connected 120+ members to the broader campus community
Supported fundraising efforts that generated over $5,000 for the USO through strategic promotion and event marketing
Learned to distill a large, diverse organization into a clear, authentic public-facing identity
Planned and executed all formal recruitment events across two cycles — coordinating schedules, vendors, food service, and logistics for multi-day programming
Overcame lack of a central facility by securing university spaces (athletic facilities, auditoriums) and adapting event formats accordingly
Managed recruitment pipeline: tracked potential members, organized outreach, and maintained documentation throughout the process
Developed and delivered member education sessions, equipping active brothers with the knowledge and talking points to represent the chapter effectively
Leveraged personal knowledge of 120+ members to strategically connect potential new members with like-minded brothers — increasing engagement and conversion
Facilitated deliberation sessions: synthesized input from dozens of members, managed objections, and guided consensus-driven decisions on new member selection
Served on the executive board, contributing to chapter governance, rule enforcement, event planning, and standards oversight

Across two years of leadership, I directly shaped how the chapter presented itself externally and how it grew internally.
Across two recruitment cycles as chairman
Through strategic event promotion
The recruitment results validated a people-first approach — understanding individual members well enough to forge genuine connections with potential new members, rather than relying on surface-level tactics.
More broadly, these roles taught me how to manage perception, coordinate complex operations, and lead groups toward decisions — skills that translate directly to brand management, event production, and organizational strategy.
